We managed to squeeze 486 bikes into the container, 426 adult and 60 youths bikes, along with many additional parts and inner-tubes. With more helping hands at a shipping party than I've ever seen before the container was on it's way before 2pm.

With the help of a lot of volunteers we were able to fill the container in about 4 hours ...

We crammed 331 adult (mainly 26" & some 24") and 144 20" childrens bikes into the container, along with 3 boxes of cranks, 1 box of brakes, 1 bucket of chains, 1 box of new MTB suspension forks, 23 extra 26" wheels and 4 bags of MTB inner-tubes.

Costa Rican Shipping Party - complete!

At the Costa Rican Shipping Party we managed to fit over 500 adult & small bikes into the container bound for the Fundacion Integral Compesina of Costa Rica.

Details: 324 used mountain bikes (24" & 26" wheels), 199 used BMX bikes (20" wheels), 2 boxes of reflectors, 19 loose used forks, 77 loose used pedals, 37 extra used wheels & a box of used brakes.

We managed to load 514 bikes, one unicycle and many, many parts into the container that blocked one lane of Western Avenue between 10:00am and 2:30pm on a blustery Saturday, when the rain & snow (thankfully) held off. Kudos and many thanks to all who showed up and helped. See pictures HERE & HERE!

We will load a container of bikes at our New International Shipping Terminal,
at 907 S. Western Avenue, on Saturday - from 9AM to 3PM.

We managed to get a container this (past) weekend and 25 brave volunteers filled it in the pouring rain! Visit Raul's Picasa Web Album to see how wet everybody got!

We packed 320 26" mountain bikes, 93 24" mountain bikes and 139 20" kid's bikes. This adds up to 552 bikes. We also loaded about 80 boxes of books.

Ghana Shipping Party - completed, at last!

We finally got a container for the Ghana shipment and managed to cram over 500 bikes and many spare parts into it on Saturday October 4th. People worked so hard there was nothing left to do on Sunday! Pictures HERE

This was the last shipping party to be held at Wabansia as we are now moving out of that location.

Saturday we start at the Western warehouse at 11 AM. We will loosely load a rental truck with mountain bikes.
They will then be taken to 1401 W. Waubansia at 2 PM where we will start loading the actual container. We will load until people decide they have done enough for one day.
We will return to Waubansia on Sunday at 10 AM and continue loading the container until we've had enough for one day.
