"Working Bikes gives new life to old bikes and independence to those who ride them ... "
The Working Bikes Cooperative is a not-for-profit tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization, tax ID #54-2138339, which diverts bicycles from the waste stream in the greater Chicagoland area & surrounding states.
We repair some of these bikes for local donation & sale to help fund the overseas shipment & donation of all the remaining bicycles.

Hours, as of November 2011 ...
We continue to be open for sales & repairs on Wednesday & Thursday noon-7pm and on Friday & Saturday noon-5pm. Please as before, note the later opening time on Saturday.
Our Volunteer night is held every Tuesday evening, from 5pm until 9pm.
Wednesdays (noon-7pm) and Saturdays (noon-5pm), when the storefront is open, are also good times to volunteer.
General & Board Meetings alternate, usually on the first Thursday of every month

Frankfort Bike Drive
The Lincoln Way East High School Student Council is hosting a bike collection for Working Bikes. The event will be held in front of the School at 201 Colorado Avenue, just off of LaGrange Road, just south of I-80 in Frankfort, IL.

Working Bikes will be accepting bike donations at the Independence Park Farmers Market, being held near the intersection of Irving Park and Pulaski roads - at 3945 North Springfield Avenue, Chicago, IL 60618.
