At last count we had stuffed 334 adult MTBs and 178 juvenille BMXs onto the container, along with 1-piece cranks, tyres and extra wheels. Lee was still stuffing a few small kids bikes in and was up to 7 when I left, so the total was 519 & counting! STOP_PRESS: I'm told that we got up to 525 bikes by the times the doors were closed? | ||

A colleague, Jack, is driving a truck from Chicago to Miami loaded with medical supplies bound for Haiti - Working Bikes will contribute 10-20 bikes to this shipment and will be hand-picking & loading suitable bikes mid-morning this Friday ... We prepared 20 fat-tyred bikes (mainly MTBs but there were a few cruisers), then took them and all of our medical equipment (crutches, walkers & 8 wheelchairs) along to the truck-loading in Mount Prospect on Saturday - as problems procuring a vehicle meant they didn't manage to get to us on Friday. | ||
